Sherliz: on the edge of genres and sensations
The Sherliz Theatre is a contemporary independent theatre from Kyiv that boldly speaks to its audience in the language of today. Founded by Anna Sherliz, this independent theatre project emerged as a space for exploration, honesty and inner freedom. There are no random Themes or superficial decisions here – each performance becomes a conversation that takes place ‘here and now,’ at the intersection of personal experience and collective reflection.
In its work, Sherliz skilfully blends theatre, performance and cinema, creating a unique stage language. The performances combine emotional truth, visual aesthetics, choreographic elements and topical Themes that resonate with modern audiences. Here, form always serves content, and the stage is transformed into a space of living presence, where not only words are important, but also silence, movement, gaze and touch.
Theatre for people
The goal of the Sherliz Theatre is to speak honestly and openly, without filters or masks. To talk simply about complex things. Through each story, Sherliz explores the human being – their physicality, love, trauma, and power of transformation. It is no coincidence that the theatre calls itself a ‘theatre of reflection’, as its performances do not just move the audience, but make them stop, think and ask themselves difficult questions. They also use this approach when creating children's productions. Here are some of Sherliz Theatre's productions:
- Scrooge: A Christmas Carol;
- Love at First Touch;
- MILF;
- Terry's Tales;
- Christmas Glow.
The Sherliz Theatre is a community of people who sincerely love their audience, their profession and their team, and this love can be felt in every performance. Come and see for yourself!
