Christmas Eve — tickets and billboard 2026

Nothing found

The Khmelnytsky Regional Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after M. Starytsky is setting off on its traditional Christmas tour. The professional troupe will perform the famous play ‘The Night Before Christmas,’ which proves that for love, you can tame even the devil himself! Look for your city on the poster!

Love, mysticism and Christmas adventures

Christmas Eve is a time when reality intertwines with magic, and hearts open up to love and sincere desires. This is precisely the atmosphere created by the play ‘The Night Before Christmas,’ based on Nikolai Gogol's cult novel of the same name, staged by the M. Starytsky Theatre. It is one of the most vivid Ukrainian Christmas stories, brought to life on the big stage with humour, music and genuine festive magic.

At the centre of the plot is Vakula, a blacksmith who, on Christmas Eve, finally loses his mind from love for the capricious Oksana. To win her heart, he takes on an almost impossible task – to obtain rare shoes. On a night when miracles become commonplace, everyone comes to the blacksmith's aid – even the Devil. To find out what Vakula will have to do to achieve this, watch the play ‘The Night Before Christmas’.

The true spirit of Ukrainian Christmas

The performance is filled with live music, festive carols, energetic dances, authentic costumes and colourful characters. Incredible adventures, mystical encounters and comical situations await the audience, leading to the main revelation: true feelings cannot be measured by expensive gifts. The play ‘The Night Before Christmas’ by the M. Starytsky Theatre is the perfect choice for a winter evening when you want to laugh with your loved ones, believe in miracles and immerse yourself in the warm, familiar atmosphere of the holiday.
