Our KAIDASHI — tickets and billboard 2026
Ukrainian classics are always relevant because they carry eternal meanings. We invite you to watch the performance of “Our Kaidashy” at the Kyiv ICCM. Brilliant acting, a new adaptation of the famous story and a lot of humour will provide a lot of pleasant memories!
Classics in a new light
Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky's legendary novel “The Kaidash Family” has repeatedly become a source for various theatre productions. And the play “Our Kaidashy” is yet another apt reinterpretation of the eternal story of the Ukrainian family. But this time it is a different angle, so don't expect a literal retelling of the story, known since school days. The play boldly brings the familiar characters into the present, allowing us to look at them and their relationships through the prism of modern Ukrainian realities. But just like 150 years ago, the Kaydashas quarrel, make up, joke, dream, grieve and love – and thus live like you and me.
The audience will easily recognise themselves, their relatives, colleagues or neighbours in the characters of “Our Kaidashis”. Because this story is not just about one family. It is about all Ukrainians: with their ambitions, everyday misunderstandings, sincerity, pride and, most importantly, love. Love is the main driving force of the play, uniting even those who seem to have nothing in common anymore.
Humour, sincerity and great love
The play “Our Kaidashy” is full of Ukrainian heartfelt humour and funny situations. At the same time, it retains life's subtexts and at the same time is filled with lightness and a modern rhythm. There are many stars in the cast:
- Olga Sumskaya;
- Vladimir Goryansky;
- Taras Tsymbalyuk;
- Natalka Denisenko and others.
Come to the show to see how important it is to talk to each other, to forgive and to remember that even in the loudest quarrels there is always room for love. "Our Kaidashy is an evening spent with pleasure and reflection. It is an ideal opportunity to see Ukrainian classics in a new way and make sure that they are alive, relevant and very, very much ours.
